Promoting Employee Health and Wellness

Since 2004, Perrigo has offered its employees formalized wellness programs, as well as the support and encouragement to stay healthy and safe. This includes, but is not limited to, annual biometric screenings, an onsite wellness center in Allegan or gym membership reimbursement, education and coaching, and sponsorships of fitness related events. As a result, recent biometric screenings have shown Perrigo employees in the U.S. maintain, on average, healthier cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure than the U.S. average.

Perrigo recognizes that safety and health are personal as well as job-related. Personal wellness programs are available for all U.S. locations and we are actively expanding these programs to locations outside the U.S.

Occupational Health and Safety – Summary & Update

Despite continuing to be lower than the pharmaceutical average, and executing on a number of preventative activities to make employees safer, Perrigo’s Total Recordable Injury Rate (TRR) increased from 1.18 in 2016 to 1.79 in 2017. The first time in 5 consecutive years that TRR did not decline.

These values are supported within Perrigo's Code of Conduct, with which all employees are expected to comply. These Core Values are further supported by policies, auditing, training, an anonymous reporting system, our Executive Committee, and a team of over 50 Compliance Coordinators to ensure governance is maintained at even our smallest sites.

This means, ensuring that all products manufactured or services conducted on behalf of Perrigo are done so in a manner that does not violate any law, risk the health or wellbeing of the person involved, or violate, whether direct or indirect, any human rights.This commitment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Prohibiting the use of any child or forced labor
